SASH Starter is licensed under the MIT X11 license which is a permissive open source/free software license. The terms are quite liberal and for almost all practical purposes will not encumber you at all. We highly encourage you to read the license carefully, but as X11 is a standard and popular open source license, you should not be overly worried.

Yes and no. SASH Starter is intended to work correctly, but it tries to emphasize simplicity and understandability more than performance. We have done our best to explain why things are done rather than how to squeeze the best performance from them. SASH Starter makes it easy to experiment with the SASH Stack and see how it fits together, but it's probably not the best code answer to your business needs. We do encourage you to copy from it wherever you wish in your "real" application, but it should not be viewed as a scaffold for an industrial-strength business application.
